What is HCG?

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a naturally-occurring protein (hormone) found predominately in pregnant women. In the 1950’s, Dr. A.T.W. Simeon, a British endocrinologist, theorized that HCG was responsible for mobilizing fat from mother to the growing fetus. Following this theory, Dr. Simeon used HCG to treat hormone imbalances in teenage boys. While treating these teenage boys with HCG, he observed they lost the majority of their abdominal fat as well. This experience inspired Dr. Simeon to use HCG to treat obesity.

How Does HCG Work?

HCG is believed to signal the hypothalamus (the brain’s “master gland”) to trigger fat mobilization. When HCG is used in conjunction with a specific low-calorie diet (for a set period of time) it allows the body’s fat stores to be burned as fuel resulting in weight loss. How Do I Take HCG?

HCG via injection is the form of HCG used in our program. It has been found to manage hunger better than other forms, while protecting the body from losing lean muscle mass. You will be instructed how to administer your injections using a tiny insulin needle. It is easy and painless!

Overview of the Weightloss Program

There are four phases in the Natural HCG Weight Loss Program.

Phase 1/Loading Phase: You begin the program with a 2 day ” loading phase” where the emphasis on your calorie intake is eating plenty of healthy fats such as olive oil, nuts, seeds, and avocado.

Phase 2/HCG Phase:  this phase lasts between 21-42 days.  During the weight loss phase you will consume a low calorie/low fat diet and self-administer a prescribed injection of the HCG hormone daily. Foods eaten during this phase are comprised of vegetables, lean proteins and fruit. The number of calories, HCG dose and length of phase is determined based on the patient’s goals, lifestyle and current activity level.

Phase 3/Stabilization Phase:  this phase involves gradually increasing your caloric intake while maintaining your weight loss.  This is accomplished by slowly adding fat back into your diet while abstaining from carbohydrates and sugar.  This phase lasts 21 days.

Phase 4/Maintenance Phase: this last phase involves adding sugar, starches and carbohydrates back into your diet slowly and minimally while maintaining your weight loss.

  • While you are in the HCG phase and using the injections, your body is rapidly burning fat.  The more you take in through diet, the less you will mobilize from your body to burn. Fat loss is optimized by reducing dietary fat intake.
  • Phases 3 & 4 are very important!  They are key to stabilizing and maintaining your new weight with real, whole foods and a healthy caloric intake.  It is during these phases that the hypothalamus creates a new metabolic and weight set point.
  • Our fat cells are a preferred place to store toxins.  The HCG program is targeting fat cells, thus you will be in a “detox” state during the program.  Because of this, we recommend you eat the cleanest food available to you – organic, free range, non-GMO.
